IS BREAST AUGMENTATION FOR YOU?
During the first appointment with your surgeon you will tell him your goals and expectations of the surgery, the surgeon will examine the natural shape of your breasts and he will explain you the cost of the procedure. You will be shown pictures of before and after surgeries for patients with beast similar to yours explaining the treatment that you expect to receive. You may be tested sizes of implants under the bra, which will give you an idea of what could be the final result.
HOW IS MY TIME OF RECOVERY? you will need to keep your breasts well supported. Your stitches and/or dressings will be removed after seven days, at which time you can return to work. Rest is recommended in the day after the surgery. You should use sport bras during the first weeks. Any pain associated with the breast augmentation can be controlled with oral medications prescribed by your surgeon. Physical activities must be restarted from four to six weeks after breast augmentation surgery.
PROCEDURE: the breast augmentation is done under general anesthesia and lasts approximately 2 hours. The most often used technique requires an incision in the lower part of areola (dark area around the nipple). Once the incision is made, the surgeon will create a pocket for the implant to lie in. This may be either beneath the muscle or beneath the breast tissue.. The implant is accommodated in the pocket and small stitches are made to close the incision.
ARE BREAST IMPLANTS SAFE? Yes, There is no evidence that breast implants increase the risk of breast cancer or other diseases. To avoid complications and be very healthy, it is imperative to examine and regularly visit your surgeon to check any abnormality.
